The 14th edition of CTDIAC (<\/span>Concurso de Teses e Disserta\u00e7\u00f5es em Intelig\u00eancia Artificial e Computacional – National Contest of Ph.D. and MSc Theses on Artificial and Computational Intelligence<\/span><\/i>) will be a satellite event of the 13th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS), to be held in person in Bel\u00e9m, State of Par\u00e1, Brazil,\u00a0 November 18 – 21, 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n CTDIAC aims to recognize the best MSc and PhD theses obtained at Brazilian Universities from August 2022 (inclusive) to July 2024 (inclusive) in the fields of Artificial and Computational Intelligence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n APPLICATION<\/b><\/p>\n CTDIAC expects original and potentially impactful concluded work. Applications must include two PDF files: one containing the thesis and another containing a paper summarizing the thesis and highlighting the most important contributions and derived work (see details later and the available Latex Template).<\/span><\/p>\n The paper summarizing the thesis work should also include the following information on the first page, right after the abstract:<\/span><\/p>\n Papers can be written in English or Portuguese and must be at most 10 pages, including the title, abstract, all tables, and figures (excluding the reference pages and <\/span>an optional appendix, that if included, must be no more than 3 pages<\/span>). Authors should use the <\/span>Latex Template<\/span><\/a> (English).<\/span><\/p>\n Submissions exceeding the maximum length or violating the formatting guidelines will be withdrawn without review.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n DECISION PROCESS<\/b><\/p>\n The Contest involves two phases. In the first phase, applications are peer-reviewed by a selected program committee focusing on the summary paper. Shortlisted authors, selected according to the reviews, are invited to participate in the second phase, which involves an oral presentation, followed by a questioning phase by an appointed committee. The committee decides 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for each track (PhD and MSc). Shortlisted authors must attend the conference and present in person.
