15th edition of the Thesis and Dissertation Contest in Artificial and Computational Intelligence
The 15th edition of the Thesis and Dissertation Contest in Artificial and Computational Intelligence (CTDIAC) is a satellite event of the 36th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS 2026), which will take place from October 19 to 22, 2026, in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
As in previous editions, the event aims to recognize and award the best master's theses and doctoral dissertations in AI/CI defended at Brazilian universities between August 2024 (inclusive) and July 2026 (inclusive).
The program committee of the 15th edition of the Thesis and Dissertation Contest in Artificial and Computational Intelligence invites authors of MSc dissertations and PhD Theses to submit their works in abstract/research summary format with up to 10 pages.

CTDIAC welcomes complete, original MSc. dissertations and PhD theses with potential scientific impact. Submissions must include a PDF file containing a summary of the thesis or dissertation, highlighting the most relevant contributions of the research and any resulting publications, as well as a reference to the full text of the dissertation or thesis. The summary must include the following information on the first page (1–2 pages maximum):
Abstracts (of dissertations and theses) may be written in English or Portuguese and MUST NOT exceed 10 pages, including title, tables, and figures (excluding references and appendices). The paper MUST use SBC template and MUST be submitted on JEMS system using CTDIAC's LaTeX template (containing suggested items for CTDIAC).
Submissions that either exceed the maximum page limit or violate the formatting guidelines will be desk rejected without review.
The contest consists of two parts. In the first part, submissions are evaluated by a peer reviewer program committee, with a focus on the submitted summary. Top-ranked submissions advance to the second part, consisted of an oral presentation for a specific committee. The committee then ranks the submissions as 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (followed by 0–3 honorable mentions) and the remaining positions, in each track (MSc's or PhD). Candidates selected for the second part MUST attend the conference and are required to present their work in-person for the committee.
The publication of the CTDIAC Proceedings in SOL (SBC Open Lib), including a 3–4 page extended summary of the selected works, is under consideration.
